A Community Golf Course with a Vision for Growth
Oak Marsh Golf Course has been a fixture in the East Metro community since 1996, offering 18 holes of public golf, a full-service restaurant, and a banquet hall for special occasions. Known for its accessibility and hospitality, the course welcomes thousands of golfers each season, averaging 37,000 rounds per year.
Beyond golf, Oak Marsh is a community hub, hosting 60-80 events annually and supporting 20 active leagues. The clubhouse is designed to serve both daily golfers and large private groups. Under the leadership of Steve and Roslyn Whillock, Oak Marsh has evolved to meet the needs of casual golfers and large-scale outings alike.
As Oak Marsh grew, Steve and Roslyn Whillock sought to consolidate their financial operations. During their search, they met Tanner Johnson, Senior Vice President at Platinum Bank. Impressed by his proactive approach and financial expertise, they selected him as their partner. Together, they secured a business loan to streamline financing, providing stability and flexibility for long-term growth.
Oak Marsh continues to reinvest in the business. A recent bunker renovation project significantly improved conditions, ensuring better drainage and playability while keeping the course competitive. With the operating season now reaching 190-200 playable days per year, the leadership team continues to enhance the golfer experience while maintaining accessible pricing.
Committed to supporting local heroes, the course, in partnership with other businesses, hosts an Annual Day of Golf for Police, Fire, and EMT workers. They also hold an Annual Salute Dinner to honor all Police, Fire, and Military personnel, both active and retired. In addition, the site is used for PGA HOPE Golf Lessons for Veterans.
Oak Marsh’s success is built on a strong team, a dedicated customer base, and leadership focused on continual improvement. With a solid financial foundation, the course is well-positioned to serve the community for years to come.
