Job Title: SBA Quality Control Specialist
Position Reports to: SBA Risk Supervisor
Objective: The SBA Quality Control Specialist assists Platinum Bank SBA Packagers, lenders, and credit analysts from credit approval through payoff. This includes pre clos review, post close review, approval to close, and servicing government-guaranteed loans. The SBA Quality Control Specialist is responsible for reviewing SBA loans for adherence to SBA guidelines as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
SBA Quality Control
- Reviews SBA closing documentation including loan closing documents, Forms 1919, and SBA terms and conditions for compliance with SBA SOPs and accuracy with credit approval.
- Prepares SBA loan pre-closing checklists and collaborates with SBA team members and third parties to ensure all closing documentation is satisfactory
- Manages post-closing exceptions reports, and follows up with lenders to collect outstanding items as needed
- Provides oversight on loan modifications with the SBA Packaging Specialist
- Completes post-closing collateral and insurance review to ensure compliance with credit approval and SBA term and conditions.
- Provide ETRAN administration and review entry on new loans and servicing actions.
- Perform Post Close Review and document exceptions according
- Completes periodic file reviews as requested on specific SBA loans
- Ongoing monitoring of business insurance and life insurance for SBA Borrowers
- Maintain a working knowledge of and compliance with all banking regulations and the SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of the SBA required documents for all SBA loans. Ensures correct combination of documents will be prepared/received for each transaction to secure legal interests of the Bank and follow SBA, the Bank, and regulatory policies and procedures.
Credit Administration
- Works as liaison with SBA Packaging Specialist, third parties, and loan operations to close and fund SBA loan transactions.
- Works with SBA pre- and post-closing ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
- Assists with preparation of SBA Underwriting Addendums and collaborates with SBA credit analysts on key components of the credit analysis required in the Credit Memorandum.
Other Responsibilities
Maintains all electronic filing so that necessary documents can be found easily, and documentation is consistent and complete.
Positive interaction with all lending staff and assists other departments when needed.
Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
Stays abreast of changes to the SBA SOPs, consults with SBA Risk Supervisor as necessary.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- High School degree or GED required.
- 4-year college degree or 3+ years related banking experience in SBA and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

- Experience with Jack Henry applications desirable.
- Experience with nCino applications desirable.
- Experience with TSoft applications desirable.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
