Job Title: Deposit Operations Specialist

Position Reports to:   Vice President / Deposit Operations & eService Banking Manager                                       

Objective:  The Deposit Operations Specialist will be responsible for all Exception Item Processing and Balancing & Reconciliation of Internal Accounts. Ancillary duties will include back-up to the eServices and Wire Transfer desks as needed. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Deposit Operations – Primary

  • EIP Administration:  Perform daily scanning, Print/Mail notices and CD interest checks
  • EIP Processing:  NSF Processing, Non-Post, Stop Payments, ACH Returns, Cashier’s Checks, Large $ Notification, Release Fed Returns, Check 21 Incoming Returns/Adjustments, Notification of changes, JHA Report Review, Overdrafts, Positive Pay Exception Processing,
  • Netteller Back Office Messages (Check # changes / adjustment requests)
  • Balancing & reconciliation of internal General Ledgers and Deposit Accounts (Expense, CD Interest, Debit Cards, Bill Pay)
  • Processing and researching Fed & ACH adjustments/Manual Return Requests (WSUD’s, Affidavits, Without Entries)
  • ACH NOC/Return rate monitoring & reporting
  • Daily OFAC Verifications
  • iPay twice daily
  • Silverlake Customer OFAC
  • Silverlake ACH OFAC
  • Jack Henry SDN Update (email)
  • Timely & accurate completion of Subpoenas, Levies, Garnishments, court orders and judgements
  • Create, maintain, and follow procedures/policy for deposit operations functions
  • Research requests as needed
  • Prepares documents for scanning and file documents as needed.
Business On-Line Banking Support – Back up
  • System set up and maintenance for all on-line banking products and services
  • Assist customers with online banking support (training/access/troubleshooting)
Ensure each client receives unparalleled customer service that is beyond their expectations.
  • Answer, evaluate and prioritize service requests received via phone, voicemail, email, and chat specifically related to business on-line banking products and services
  • Prepares documents for scanning and file documents as needed.
  • Monitor & process ACH Origination batches
  • Manage RDA (Mobile Deposit) Exceptions

Wires– Back Up

  • Process incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers
  • Process Wire Returns / Rejects
  • Process and test Wire Draw Downs
  • Monitor Wire Transfer Service messages
  • Perform Wire verifications/ dual controls as defined by Bank Policy / Procedures
  • Complete Wire Transfer daily balancing
  • Monitor and manage daily cash position and move funds as required
  • Prepares documents for scanning and file documents as needed.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in bank operations functions required
  • 1-3 years’ experience in on -line banking & Cash Management products & services preferred
  • Basic accounting skills and proficiency in MS tools (Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Technical aptitude (network, hardware, software, database, phones etc.)
  • Familiarity with Jack Henry Silverlake, Synergy Imaging system, other banking software applications a plus
  • Banking experience required

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
